I ordered six of these salad plates in different colors to hang on the wal (at least one of each color)l--so I have not used them for food. However, they are beautiful. The colors as they appear on-line are not accurate, especially the green. The green bands in the on-line version appear beige. The actual colors on all the plates are much more vivid. Since they are so nice, I did consider purchasing some for daily use, so I tested a plate in the mircrowave, and although they are supposed to be micro-wave safe, it got really hot. I thought they might be different from my stoneware, all of which gets hot to some degree or other in the microwave, but these were no better, so I decided against purchasing more.
The service from Finnsytle was excellent. The order came in just a few days--much quicker than I expected--and the plates were all carefully packaged and in perfect condition.
