A 2012 winner of the Red Dot Design Award, the iittala Allas Cast Iron Candleholder is a new interpretation of the tradition candelabra. Norwegian designer Andreas Engesvik combines the lightness of tall and comforting candles with the heaviness of cast iron, which has been enamelled for a smooth, matte finish. Meaning basin or pool in Finnish, the candleholder offers a calm and tranquil environment for one to relax after a long day at work or play. Allas provides a setting for six candles, in colors of your choosing, at six differing heights in this eye-catching combination of beauty and brawn.
Fits most standard candles with a 3/4" diameter base.
Candles not included.

This is a beautiful candleholder. The photos do not do it justice. The staggering of the placement of the candles makes for an elegant and visually interesting view; the eye wants to return to the candleholder as when the flames of the candles are flickering, they are doing so at different heights. It is a stunning addition to any table, and has become one of my favourite table decorations for special occasions.

It's lovely. The size and design are perfect for my 60 inch round cherrywood table. Simple and elegant.. The slightly different candle heights add to it's appeal. Give it a whole new look by changing the candle colors.
It's odd that there is no oblique and slightly overhead photo of this candle holder... since it's round and I assume the candle arrangement is staggered and not in a straight line??? Or are they?

Correct - the tallest candle is near the center of the display while the other 5 candles surround the center candle in circular fashion
