Q & A
Handcrafted from ceramic and glazed, this plant pot is simple and functional art. Aino Aalto originally designed this collection for the terrace of the home she shared with Alvar Aalto on Helsinki's Riihitie Road. It was featured in the Artek presentation at the Paris World Fair in 1937, but never when into serial production. More than 80 years later, the pots are now reinterpreted for indoor use so that their beauty and ingenuity can be utilized by fans of Finnish and modern design. An organic shape without corners, it embodies the Aaltos' belief that even the smallest details are worthy of our time and attention.
