Q & A
This iconic 1936 design was inspired by the British tea culture Aino and Alvar Aalto encountered in their travels, as well as the Japanese woodwork and architecture they admired. The original has been reinterpreted by Hella Jongerius for a more monochromatic, clean look. The birch wood frame has been lacquered black, while the upper and lower linoleum trays are colored peat and charcoal respectively. These slight variations in color are intended to play with the shifting light between the two surface levels. Peat-toned wheels crafted from MDF pull the distinct styling together. Made in Finland by Artek, the tea trolley ships fully assembled. Please review our Shipping Information page before ordering.
