This black mug features Ancestor illuminated by a lantern and flipping a framed portrait. Moomin-founder Tove Jansson created the original illustration, which appears in the book "Moominland Midwinter." It was then interpreted by Tove Slotte, who beautifully took the classic from paper to porcelain.

As always, the Moomin mugs are crafted from porcelain and are microwave, oven, freezer, and dishwasher safe. The new mugs have special details, like an identifying stamp on the bottom and attached gift tag with a sweet story about the design.

This one reads: "The fascinating, mystical ancestor is small and hairy. He moves only at night, and doesn't speak at all. He lives in the moomin house salon, behind the oven. He keeps on decorating the house by turning paintings upside down."
