Aino Aalto (1894-1949) won the 1932 iittala-Karhula design competition in Finland, outdoing her architect/designer husband Alvar Aalto. Aino also won the Gold Medal at the 1936 Milan Triennale for this glassware line. Originally named “Bölgeblick”, the ribbed design is inspired by the ripples made when a stone hits water. Aino Aalto’s namesake design is the oldest in the iittala collection, and is available in a tumbler set of 4 mixed colors. Colors include 1 each of Clear, Apple Green, Light Blue and Sand.
