Crafted in Fiskars, Finland exclusively for FinnStyle, the Bianco Blu Red Willow Bird is truly a one-of-a-kind piece of art you won't find anywhere else. The bird was designed by artist Tarmo Maaronen and mouth-blown by a small team of skilled blowers. Maaronen was born in 1963 in Urjala, Finland and has been blowing glass since 1979. He worked as a teacher of Scandinavian glass techniques from 1995-1997, until he founded his own glass studio Bianco Blu. The Willow bird is a translucent red-orange color with a mesmerizing pattern of white stripes. A beautiful blue head adds alluring contrast, and two indents depict the bird's alert eyes.

So Happy with Bianco Blu Red Willow

I have been looking at this for a long time. The two colors together are my favorite. I kept putting him in my cart, then remove, would return later, put in cart, then remove repeat repeat... then I just went for it and voila am so happy I did. This item is even better in real life. It's heavier, brighter, very pleasing to the eye. This is my first bird and I have a feeling it won't be my last.

Nice Except for a few Obvious Blemishes

The bird is hand blown, which sometimes result in a few blemishes. However, this bird had two blemishes that were too obvious for me to give it as a 40th birthday present in February. FinnStyle was quick to offer a return label and a re-ship at no cost to me.
