In the bason of the bowl, a bird hitches a ride on a reindeer. The image is reminiscent of cave drawings, and captures the primitive style that Pentik's handcrafted dinnerware is known for. In Finland, reindeer aren't just meaningful during the holiday season. With the number of reindeer in Finland roughly equal to the number of people living there, it's become somewhat of a Lapland icon. The bowls are lovely and functional. The design is delightful and adds a playful touch to the dining table. The bowl size is excellent for many dishes including pasta, stir fries, lasagne, etc, with dinner size portions. I purchased during a sale and was very pleased with the price.
