iittala Gaissa was designed by Finnish artist Tapio Wirkkala in 1973. This beautiful and classic collection of cocktail glasses has rocky bottoms and thin walls that reflect the lucid qualities of ice. Wirkkala's themes are derived from observations of nature, such as ice formations and movements of water. Named after a fell covered perpetually by snow, Wirkkala's Gaissa glasses powerfully illustrate the artist's master and command of his craft and the powerful force the arctic climate serves as his inspiration.

Beautiful glasses, arrived as expected

I had seen these at the Arabia iittalia store when visiting Helsinki this summer and loved them. I like how the bottom reminds one of ice. I purchased them for my husband's birthday. They arrived in perfect shape, just as I remembered them, and at the expected delivery time.

Great Finnish product for liquids
