Kirsti Doukas

Created from a clear vision, the pieces from jewelry designer Kristi Doukas convey messages of love, art and country. As one of the best known jewelry designers in Finland, Doukas has been designing for Kalevala since 1989 and has won several awards for her work including Goldsmith of the year in 1999. Her pieces have been in exhibitions in Scandinavia, Germany, Switzerland and Japan and her popularity is most often attributed to her clean modern style which crosses all cultures and tastes. Some of her most famous works include the Twinflower design which is inspired by a Finnish poem, The Dream collection which celebrates Finnish political freedom and the Horseman collection which tells of an operatic tale of love. Jewerly created by Doukas is passionate and rooted in design that goes beyond a pretty façade to tell a powerful story.

About Finnish Design

Finnish design has a long history and is know for simplicity, functionality, and craftsmanship. It's trademark designs emerged in the early 20th century, and gained international attention through pioneers like Alvar Aalto in architecture and furniture, as well as companies such as Iittala, Artek, and Marimekko.
