Marimekko Logo

Marimekko meaning "Mary-dress" was established in 1951. Marimekko's story begins at Viljo Ratia's textile printing company when Armi Ratia who found bold new patterns for the printing company which transformed the future of textile printing. Marimekko is a simple and timeless company that embodies an empowering lifestyle with creativity and function. Their design philosophy is to create timeless designs that are made to be everlasting.

Marimekko's simple design philosophy inspired Amri to create a simple and timeless logo. In 1954, the Marimekko logo was created by a graphic designer who used a modified version of the traditional Olivetti typewriter font to create the Marimekko logo.  And to this day, the simple and timeless Marimekko logo continues to serve as the symbol of Marimekko.
