Lars Jansson
Lars Fredrik Jansson (1926 – 2000) was a Finnish author and cartoonist, and the younger brother of Tove Jansson, the renowned creator of the Moomins. Lars was born into a creative family and grew up immersed in the arts alongside Tove and their photographer brother. Beginning in 1957, he began collaborating with Tove on the Moomin comic strip, initially helping with scripts and translations, and by 1961 had taken full responsibility for writing and drawing the strip, which he continued until the mid 1950s. His legacy now continues through his daughter, Sophia Jansson, who began collaborating with him in 1993 and now carries forward the management of the Moomin strip and its legacy .
