Daniel Rybakken

Daniel Rybakken is a Norwegian designer known for his innovative lighting designs that explore the intersection of natural light and artificial environments. Born in Oslo in 1984, he studied design in both Norway and Sweden, earning acclaim early in his career. His work often focuses on recreating the effects of daylight indoors, creating subtle, poetic interactions between light and space. Rybakken has collaborated with prestigious design brands such as Luceplan and Artek, producing award-winning pieces like the Counterbalance lamp. His designs are characterized by minimalism, precision, and a deep understanding of human perception. Rybakken has received numerous international awards, including multiple Red Dot and Compasso d’Oro honors. He continues to shape contemporary design through both his studio practice and collaborations.
