Aini Vaari
Aini Vaari was a Finnish textile designer born in 1931 in Muolaa, Finland. At the age of 20, she began her career at the newly established Finlayson-Forssa design studio, earning recognition for her exceptional drawing skills and training to become a leading surface pattern designer. She worked at Finlayson until 1974, after which she transitioned to freelance work while continuing to design for Finlayson and other clients well into the early 2000s. Over her career, she created an estimated 2,000+ unique patterns, many of which remain beloved Finnish design classics. Aini passed away in 2024, leaving behind a rich legacy of vibrant, functional textile art.

About Finnish Design
Finnish design has a long history and is know for simplicity, functionality, and craftsmanship.
